Born in 1972, Shanghai, China. He studied at Shanghai Huashan Art School and Fine Art College of Shanghai University. In 2004, Maleonn started engage in visual art creation, which is mainly by the media of photography, as well as dramas, drawings, installation sculptures and literary works. In 2012, Maleonn completed his photography art project, Mobile Photo Studio. In 2015, his puppet show "Papa's Time Machine" became the first Chinese drama work selected into the drama section of the International Society for the Performing Arts Annual Conference (ISPA). In 2019, the documentary film "Our Time Machine" based on Ma Liang's drama creation won the Best Cinematography Award at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York in the United States. In 2020, "Our Time Machine" was nominated for the American Gotham Award for Best Documentary. It was once again nominated for the US Emmy Award for Best Documentary in 2021. |
