Zhang Wenchao (born in 1985) is an artist who lives and works in Beijing. He is currently a lecturer (director of art and technology) at the School of Design, Central Academy of Fine Arts. He graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) with a major in digital media art in 2008 and obtained a master's degree in fine arts from CAFA in 2014. His works focus on human experience, behavior, and imagination in media environments. His works and projects involve artistic languages based on emerging technologies such as moving images, interactive programs, datasets and algorithmic generative art, games and virtual worlds. He is also a member of the "Joint Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Art" of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and CAFA. His solo exhibitions include: "Zhang Wenchao: Hidden in a theater path"(Tokyo Gallery + BTAP, Beijing, China, 2024) / "Zhang Wenchao: The manipulation of the Imagination"(Guangdong Museum of Art, Guangdong, China,2023).
